The Council of Chapters and Regions (CCR) consists of delegates from the 120 Chapters and Divisions in eleven regions around the country and is the democratic voice of the UNA membership in making decisions for UNA-USA.
Mission: We are dedicated to educating, inspiring and mobilizing Americans to support the principles and vital work of the United Nations, strengthening the United Nations system, promoting constructive United States leadership in that system and achieving the goals of the United Nations Charter.
Our Core Focus Areas: Members of UNA-USA encourage the U.S. to develop and support bilateral and multilateral policies that reinforce U.S. leadership in international affairs and support the United Nations as a vital institution in fostering peace and security. The Advocacy Agenda is set by the Steering Committee of the Council of Chapters and Regions.
Millennium Development Goals: Encourage U.S. support and payment of its fair share of international funding to achieve the eight MDG’s adopted in 2000 by all member states to reduce poverty and enhance international cooperation for development by 2015. Priorities include ensuring environmental sustainability, promoting gender equality and empowering women, and eradicating extreme poverty and hunger.
Locations:
10 states have one office each – Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Utah
6 states have two offices each – Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Indiana, and Hawaii
7 states have 3 offices each – Colorado, Connecticut, Ohio, Oregon, Illinois, Missouri, and North Carolina
5 states have 4 offices each – Iowa, Kentucky, New Jersey, Arizona, and Texas
2 states have 5 offices each – Michigan and Pennsylvania
1 state has 6 offices – New York
1 state has 31 offices – California
